Starting Monday August 6, Rotherham All Saints' Square will once again undergo its 10 hour-transformation into a seaside resort for a great week at the beach.

The family-favourite event, which has been bringing fun and excitement to the town centre for a decade, will be running 10am - 4.30pm each day with a range of seaside-themed activities.

Last year, Rotherham-by-the-Sea welcomed 6,000 people to the town centre to enjoy the experience which included fun and activities for the whole family.
The year's event promises another week of fantastic themed days and activities with a funfair, face-painting, bingo, and a knobbly-knee competition to name but a few.
Children and adults alike will be transported to the seaside with striped deckchairs, tonnes of sand and lots of brilliant entertainment including bingo games for an authentic by-the-sea experience.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Amy Rushforth, said: "Rotherham by the sea has been bringing the beach to our town for ten years now, and what an amazing ten years it has been.

"In that time, over 1,000 tonnes of sand have been used, 250 games of bingo have been played, thousands of ice creams sold and hundreds of sandcastles built.
"It takes over a day and 10 tonnes of sand to transform All Saints' Square into a mini-seaside resort, to be enjoyed by an estimated 6,000 people over the week.
"Rotherham-by-the-Sea has become a real tradition in the town centre and Rotherham residents of all ages genuinely look forward to all the activities going on over the week and really joining in the seaside spirit.

"We are just keeping our fingers crossed for the weather to be kind and we'll be set for a week of seaside fun!"
